RAWHIDE: Murder One: CD

This Swedish band plays gritty, raw, mid-blowing punk mixed with a dose of hard rock that will get your heart beating fast and your ears begging for more. A hint of MOTORHEAD mixed with TURBONEGRO and shake hard gives you the most awesome band to rip your ears off.

The  songs are played at top speed with angry, spat-out vocals and with enough energy to light up your city for a year. The whirling dervish collection of songs just gets into your head and won’t leave. There is not one slow, boring or useless song on here, just one killer tune after another that will leave your neck sore from head-banging, your body wiped out from being in the pit and your ears bleeding, but wanting more.

This is the real deal shit kids…no wimp-ass music, just hard-hitting, rip your face off music that fills me with joy. If you don’t buy this one…you’re an idiot!

KRUDS / RAMPANT DECAY: Split: 7″

What we have here is a split 7″ with two bands that are similar enough to warrant being together, but different enough to stand out from each other. There are six songs on here and it’s on purple vinyl.

 First up is KRUDS from San Antonio, TX with four songs that use a lot of samples either before the song or after the song that could have been left off and probably all the better of it. You get samples from Mike Tyson and COMPTONS MOST WANTED which I will cut off of the cd I will make of this single. KRUDS kick things off with some growling vocals, and some crazy fast metal / thrash that is really big on the metal. They fire through their four songs adding in some dual vocals here and there and basically rip it up. RAMPANT DECAY from Providence, RI who are faster and more metal based than KRUDS are. They have two tracks to get their anger and venom out and they sure do! The tracks are a blur of speed, barely decipherable vocals and all out craziness. 

 

These two bands go together fairly well on here, I like the KRUDS songs a bit more, but both do a good job of showing us what they’re made out of. If you are a fan of really metal based music with some hardcore underpinnings, then this one is for you.

STRONG INTENTION: Razorblade Express: 7″

Coming out of the state of Maryland, STRONG INTENTION is a three-piece band that has put out a six song single that comes on both green and black vinyl and features Mike IX Williams of EYEHATEGOD on two tracks.

 These guys just come out of the barrel with guns blasting with some brutal grind / hardcore songs. You get no let up from when the needle hits the vinyl until it’s all over and boy, do they just rip. The guitar rips throughout this recording, the vocals are heavy, but not so buried that you can’t understand the anger in the lyrics. The band takes you on a super heavy ride that only takes under ten minutes, and makes you want to go further.

This is a pretty good single, with lots for fans of super heavy hardcore mixed with a fairly big dose of grind will get into. I was a first timer, but it won’t be my last.

PANZERBASTARD: Centurion: CD

This four piece band out of Boston, MA has a raging four track EP release here with two originals and two covers of Celtic Frost songs. This band is just crushing the competition with some brutal hardcore/thrash that smashes into your chest and knocks the shit out of you.

This has some crust on it, but it doesn’t completely dominate this recording, it adds to it. This has just the right elements of hardcore, thrash, crust and even some d-beat that it will please a whole bunch of you guys. The songs aren’t super long, so this leaves you wanting more and sounds great blaring out of your car, trust me, I pissed off some people with this and loved every minute of it!.

This is one of those releases that I was kind of wondering if I was going to be into it, but this really grabbed me and I’m so glad that I got the chance to hear this. This is a really tight recording and really well-played with really good production that made this a really cool recording.

EXECUTIONER: Anthology: CD

 

This band from San Jose, CA has been compiled in this limited edition CD. There are only 1000 copies of this CD and it comprises of their entire output from back in 1982 and comes with a great fold out poster.

This band has such a great hardcore sound that I had almost forgot that hardcore could be this good. You get twenty-nine tracks on this CD that comes packaged like a 7″ single, and all the songs are cleaned up to make them sound great, no hissing, dropouts or brick wall sound on this. You get songs from a demo, compilation tracks and a ton of live tracks, two which were recorded just in 2008. This is the kind of stuff that I love to hear and play over and over again. The playing is great on this collection and you get nice gritty vocals, guitar work that tears shit up and these guy have great lyrics to boot.

This is a great collection that you need to go out and get, if you can, since there are only 1000 of this and everyone needs this, so get off of your ass and get it before it’s gone.
