This New Jersey band plays fun punk rock with xylophone and glockenspiel. Yep…xylophone and glockenspiel in punk rock, giving the music a bit of THE DICKIES feel and being so wrong that it’s right.
With a crazy instrumental song starting things off the band jumps into the punk rock fun and “King Kong” is such a great song that it just boggles the mind. Hooks galore, a great chorus and that xylophone adding so much to the song. The songs on this release are just fantastic and so much fun, you can’t resist getting a smile on your face while listening to this album. Along with the zaniness of THE DICKIES, you also get hints of THE DEAD MILKMEN and THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS all mixed in. Song after song is terrific and I just can’t get enough of this album. The band really knows how to write a song that not only has a punk sheen, but keeps that pop sound mixed in perfectly, not too sweet as to make your teeth hurt, but tasty enough to keep going until there is no more.
I highly recommend this album and wish that I got the cassette too as it contains an extra fourteen non-LP tracks, as it is, the record has sixteen songs and comes on your choice of black, half pink half green, pink splatter, or green splatter. Get this one quick!
