Boston, MA’s RIVAL MOB has members who have done time in infamous area bands like MIND ERASER, RIGHTEOUS JAMS, MENTAL, XFILESX, and many
others, now they are all together in this band. The band’s Revelation Records debut picks up right where their previous EP Hardcore For Hardcore left off
Twelve songs of blistering hardcore from RIVAL MOB on their new album Mob Justice from Revelation Records. Starting off with the heavy instrumental “Intro Grunt”, you’re in for a treat of great moshy hardcore with the entire song being one song to get the pit warmed up for “Mob Justice”. You get gang vocals, manic drumming, heavy, throbbing bass, mosh parts, guitar playing that is hyper fast and shouted vocals which combined together, the fury of the pit will be awesome. RIVAL MOB aren’t poets by a long shot, but their lyrics are gritty and real and will speak to you on a level that you can understand, and most of all, sing along with because the songs are catchy as hell and the gang vocals just force you to shout them at the top of your lungs. The album is non-stop in-your-face Boston hardcore with a feel of the classic time in the 1980s when there were a bunch of great hardcore bands from Boston like The FREEZE, DECADENCE and The F.U.’s. The production is clear and it gives the band clarity for us to hear the lyrics and the band’s intensity perfectly without being limp or a weak mix, this is hard as nails.
This is one of the best hardcore bands out there right now and they have created an album that will blow you away with the crushing power of the music on here. When you put this album on, you will get up, start moshing and shout along with every song on here and then when the album is over and you’re completely spent, you’ll put it on again and do it all over again…yes, it’s that good!
